Happy Tutorial Thursday! I’ve had so many requests for a oversized tote bag and of course I thought it would be fun to make a Quilty one! So that’s what we’ll be doing today.
This bag isn’t super difficult, but it does have some rounded edges, so if this is your very first bag project, you might want to try my Easy Drawstring Bag tutorial, my super popular Drawstring Squishy Bag, or my Patchwork Tote bag first! But really it’s not too difficult, so if you’re up for something new I hope you’ll join in the fun!
This bag finishes at 8″ x 12″ x 18″ and is the perfect overnight bag!
It also features a cute ribbon closure, and an inside pocket to store some extra goodies. And of course we added some fun decorative ribbon, cross-hatch quilting, and colorful binding to give it a little extra pop of color.
So, if you’re looking for a great weekend tote, this one is perfect! Grab some fun fabric, the PDF Pattern, and let’s get started sewing shall we?
