Hi everyone! I’m so excited to partner with Keri from Catching Stitches to bring you the Vintage Summer Quilt Along!
It’s kicking off on April 1, 2019 and will finish up around mid May so you still have plenty of time to get in on the action!
We’ll be hosting weekly giveaways as well, so make sure to head over to my Instagram so you can see what each week’s entry will be!
You may be asking, “What is a Quilt Along?”
In our case it is just a group of people who will be sewing the same quilt at the same time and posting our progress on Instagram or other social media! It’s always fun to motivate each other and see all the finished blocks popping up!
We will have a basic timeline, but don’t worry too much about the timeline it will just be used to keep us all going at a steady rate! Feel free to sew more or fewer blocks than we suggest each week! Again, the timeline is just a suggestion.
Each Friday during the sew along Keri and I will be selecting winners for giveaways using the hashtag #vintagesummerquiltalong .
The only thing you will need to do in order to be entered for the giveaway that week is post a picture of your progress and use that hashtag.
Note: Make sure we can see your photos on Instagram through this hashtag in order for you to be selected as a winner!
The timeline for the Vintage Summer Quilt Along is as follows:
April 1-7: Select Fabric, Get your Vintage Summer Pattern and/or Kit here!
This week is easy! Simply decide on the fabric line you would like to use and what prints you would like for each block. Or you can order the kit from Keri from Catching Stitches to make it look like just like mine!
April 8-14: Truck and Surfboard Blocks
April 15-21: Palm Tree and Beach Ball Blocks
April 22-28: Pinwheel Sashing Blocks
April 29-May 5: Assembling Top and Borders
May 6 -12: Quilting, Binding, and Quilt Along Wrap Up!
You may finish this quilt in a week or even in a weekend if you’d like! As long as you have a photo of the blocks for that week, you will be able to qualify for the giveaway of the week!
Keep in mind also, if you do happen to finish your quilt early you may choose to make pillows, placemats, etc. with these cute truck blocks! They’re the perfect size for placemats or pillows!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone’s progress and we hope you’ll join us in our Vintage Summer Quilt Along!
Head over to my Instagram for more info! I’ll be posting pics there and make sure to follow Keri at Catching Stitches as well to stay up to date with winner selections!!
