Good morning readers! I promised to do a video review of my Road Trip USA Geography & History curriculum, and I’ve finally had a chance to get it uploaded for you all. We had so much fun using this curriculum to learn about the United States! It’s packed full of interesting state facts, symbols, crafts, recipes, activities, and more!
Want to see more details on what it looks like? Check out my Road Trip USA Video below!
So I hope you’ll come along with us on an exciting journey learning about the U.S.A! From the signing of the Declaration of Independence, to the wild west, you’ll uncover all the secrets this Nation has to offer! Within this curriculum you’ll discover the sights and sounds of all 50 states, including state symbols, U.S. Presidents, famous people, landmarks, historical events, and much more! For you history buffs, this is a great introduction for young learners!
You will start out learning about the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Revolutionary War. Then you’ll move south to learn more about the Civil War and Underground Railroad. From there you’ll journey with Lewis & Clark through the mid-west, live with the Hopi in the southwest, then venture out into the wild west on a covered wagon ride!
What age is this for? These unit studies are intended for elementary students ages Kindergarten – 6th grade or so, but I’d even use it for 7th grade.

Hello! I am looking at the extras for the curriculum. I was wondering if you could list the “if you were there” books that are incorporated into your curriculum?
Thank you for your time!
Hi there, I just wanted to leave a little review here since I wasn’t sure where else to do it. We have been having fun with this curriculum so far this year. There have been a few typos here and there that have been no big deal. However, when we got to Indiana, it was pretty bad. I had to white out the Monarch butterfly on the coloring page in the student workbook because Indiana has no state insect. I searched google, and found nothing. Also, the Wright brothers were included as the “Famous People” for Indiana. The only connection I could see to Indiana for the Wright brothers is that the oldest one was born there, and they lived there for maybe two years. When I searched the lives of the Wright Brothers, I saw that they mainly lived in Ohio (with a very brief move back to Indiana). Their major life events happened in Ohio, and of course North Carolina. Anyway, I just purchased this curriculum at the beginning of the 2016/2017 school year. I’ll be going over all the material very closely for the rest of the school year. Maybe it would be worth it to go back over Road Trip USA and see what adjustments should be made. Other than this, I think it is a fun and thorough curriculum!
What is the difference between the CD and the download? Logos Press is offering this, but it looks like it is only the CD.
Wondering if you could recommend a curriculum that is solely the state info component (birds, etc) while leaving out the history portion? We want strictly the geography. Thanks!
Hi Dee,
You can still use my Road Trip USA for the state info, just skip the recommended reading for the history sections. 🙂
Hi Erica! Road Trip USA is an amazing resource and a great value. Thank you for the video as well.
I teach a two day co-op can i combine science in with the Road trip USA and what could I use?
There are animals, weather, climate and plants in the Road Trip USA so there is some science in the curriculum already.
Hi!
How much does it cost approximately to print out Road Trip USA at a place like Office Mac, FedEx Kinko’s etc?
Thanks!
Hi,
I wouldn’t necessarily print there as it can be quite expensive. I recommend printing at http://www.thehomeschoolprintingcompany.com , tell them I sent you and they may have a special for you.
Hello! I have a question about this. I have a physical copy that was provided to us by our school, but there are hyperlinks all throughout the text. I’m sure those links are great in a pdf, but it doesn’t make sense in printed form. Is there a way to see all those links?
Sorry, I just saw on your site that you only sell the PDF. I’ll contact our school and see if I can get that PDF so I can see all the hyperlinks.
Yes, you’ll need to download the PDF version of the curriculum. Talk to your administrator who purchased the curriculum. They should be able to do that for you.
Hi! I can’t find the states/capitals song with the words and we can’t figure out how it goes. Is there anywhere we can hear the music with the words first?
Hi Kim,
There’s a link to it in the teacher’s manual, but here is a video that has the tune:

Hi Erica,
If I want to get through the Road Trip curriculum in one school year, how many days per week would you do this in a typical 175-180 day year. Or/also do you do one lesson/ day/class period?
Hi Britney,
If you would like to get through it in a year you would want to do it 5 times per week, or one lesson per day M-F.
