Hi everyone! As most of you know, we recently moved. And Iβve had a ton of requests to see our new homeschool room setup!
Obviously we brought all of our furniture with us, so itβs fairly similar to before. But the new room is a tad smaller, so I did make a few adjustments to the layout.
So without further adoβ¦hereβs our Updated Homeschool Room Tour!
Here is the entry to our room. I have my little reading bench, calendar area, and a few posters on that wall.
As you can see most of my room is setup as it was before, so there arenβt any really drastic changes. I did clean out a bunch of the clutter, so believe it or not, there is actually less stuff on my shelves than before! Of course I kept the white board, and my favorite Ikea Expedit Shelving unit.
There has been a change since I filmed the video! Actually it was only a few days after of course!
But most of you know, we added two little budgies to our room! Iβll have a post introducing you to Remi and Kiwi coming soon!
Once we moved the birds into the room, we needed to rearrange some of the furniture so they had a safe place to set.
Below you can see our school desk setup. I have a whole post on our Ikea desk units you can check out. They discontinued the table tops I purchased, but they replaced them with the Linnmon Table Tops, white.
I moved my desk and reading incentives over to this corner. I actually like it better this way too, so Iβm glad we made the switch.
And thatβs it! I hope you enjoyed our new schoolroom setup. So far, so good for us!

Its looking good, we have the same bird cage as you also sat on top of an expedit! We however keep our 4 pet rats in it π I’ve recently posted about it here: http://lebabybakery.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/hallway-update.html
It is just beautiful! I would love to homeschool in that room every day!!
What a spectacular space! I love the clean lines of the furniture and the accent colors throughout, so kid friendly. I personally do not have enough room to designate a space for honeschooling, but I sure plan to use some of your ideas for organization.
I love all of your ideas. I am a new to homeschooling, well preparing for the 2014-2015 school year now. I am also a military spouse of 11 years. We are off to our 5th move in May. I will have to say that I have been researching until I feel sloppy of the mind, but I always come back to your website for references. I am grateful for your website π

Hi, I love your schoolroom!!! I was wondering were you got your alphabet chart from. I’ve been searching for something just like it and haven’t been able to find one. Thank you π
Hi, I just had to give you a friendly warning about the birds! I used to keep our parakeets in the room with us, but they would get so excited and loud whenever I was talking/teaching. If I raised my voice to be heard over them, they would get louder and louder and so on. You can’t compete with their screeches, let me tell ya! I hope yours are quieter than mine!
I know this is a bit off topic, but you mentioned reading incentives by your desk. I would love to know what kind of incentive program you use! Maybe you posted about it before? If so, could you post the link? Thanks so much!!!
It looks so clean and bright, Erica. I love it! Thanks for the peek into your home!
Enjoy your website! Thank you.! Your homeschooling room is beautifully laid out!
Just curious what state did you move to? Has the homeschooling laws changed for you?
God Bless!
OMG i love your homsechool room so organized and bright!
