Hello awesome readers. Today I come to you with a cry for support.

Thank you to so many of you who supported last week’s blog post about honoring copyright.

Unfortunately, this action ruffled some feathers of one of the Facebook groups in question. They’ve chosen to have their members report my Confessions of a Homeschooler Facebook account as abusive and Facebook has disabled my account in response.

PLEASE HELP!

Today I come to you with a cry for support to have my account reinstated. I don’t know if it will work or not, but I’m hoping if we flood Facebook with requests they may take notice. I’m currently trying to appeal to Facebook to get the account reinstated and would appreciate any support you are comfortable giving!

If you feel led to support my cause, please use hashtag:

#WeLoveCoah

Feel free to copy and paste any of the tweet/FB posts below, or create your own!

Please Reinstate http://www.facebook.com/ConfessionsofaHomeschooler for www.confessionsofahomeschooler.com @ericahomeschool #WeLoveCoah

Feel free too share links to your favorite COAH printables with your followers too! Any support is appreciated!

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all of your support, I am so blessed to see so many people already standing up for what is right as well as helping to petition for my Facebook page already!

P.S. Make sure to check in tomorrow, I have a fun freebie for everyone!

  1. Erica, I’m so horrified for you. My heart is just breaking! Keep standing in grace and know that you are backed by a large crowd of homeschoolers that appreciate you and your amazing talents! Will be praying that this is over quickly!

  2. I don’t know anything about this sort of thing or how to get it resolved. I have shared it. Hopefully it will get resolved quickly. It is disappointing that this has come about from others that are doing the wrong thing. 🙁 Praying that through this trial, God is glorified!

    Love your work! 🙂

  3. I hate seeing copyright infringement and have had a few people think me strange when I’ve pointed out if a program is single user license (no resale) or not to be used outside the family. People copying entire books for multiple children (which sometimes makes no sense given the cost of printing it all anyways) or so they can sell it as brand new. Hearing that your Facebook page was pulled is just awful! (tweeted for you!)

I definitely prefer to support ethical and moral individuals and will go out of my way to support them. Praying that Facebook reinstates you soon.

  4. My husband and I decided in 2009 to close our Facebook accounts because it was just too devisive of a platform. I have read articles about vile, disgusting, pronographic FB pages being allow to stay on while good, decent, account users have been kicked off which lends its self to the question, where is Facebooks priorities? Do they not look into these matters?
Would it really hurt your business and/or blog to not be on FB? I know the good folks probably put weigh the bad but your blog has such a large following at it stands- I don’t know of a homeschooling mom in my area that doesn’t know Confessions of a Homeschooler! :0)
It’s just a thought. I personally receive your emailed blog posts and have purchased your curriculum before and love it! I constantly recommend you by word of mouth. I hope the situation gets reconciled soon.

    1. I have to agree with you Annie, and as much as I would like to leave FB.. none of my friends will switch to Google Plus.. but I have seen pornographic images of naked women/men but I have had a picture and a video of my daughter in a long shirt and underwear(you could only see these if she jumped and her shirt when up which happened once) but it was taken down.. I re-posted them and again they were brought down and I received a message if I keep posting them back up they will take action and ban my account permanently.. I put them on Google plus and nothing happened and my family overseas got to see them.

Erica, I am soo sorry about this happening but with the way the world is these days and how people can just click and report innocent people.. I am shocked but not shocked at the same time. I am hoping they put your page back up and do the right thing.. but don’t let this bring you down.. you are an amazing person have accomplished alot of things.

  5. I’m so sorry to hear this Erica. I love your blog & am sorry that you even have to deal with people breaking copyright laws & now this… I posted to fb, but if there is anything else we can do please let us know!
    Blessings

  6. Erica,
I am so sorry this has happened. I wish I could help by posting to Facebook, but I don’t have an account on Facebook. Yep, you read that right, 🙂 I might be the only one in the world without an account. All I can do is pray.

    1. Maggie,

You’re not alone. I don’t do facebook, either, for lots of reasons.

Erica, you are such a blessing to the homeschool community. I love your blog, and check it often. I purchased a couple of your curriculums and love them! Will be buying more for the coming year.

Hang in there. I hope and pray that your facebook issue will be resolved soon.

    2. I also do not have a facebook account. I recently tried it for a whopping 3 days because our local homeschool group has a page on there and I wanted info about local events. But after a few days I realized it wasn’t worth it. I hated it, there is no privacy, there’s nothing productive to do on there, and it encourages divisive arguments on all sorts of stuff. I’m extremely active online and in various discussion forums and e-mail groups but I can do without facebook for sure.

So sorry Erica, this is a shame that people reacted so negatively. You’ve always been so generous with your time and talents, I for one have benefitted greatly from your products and blog posts!
