Hello awesome readers. Today I come to you with a cry for support.

Thank you to so many of you who supported last week’s blog post about honoring copyright.

Unfortunately, this action ruffled some feathers of one of the Facebook groups in question. They’ve chosen to have their members report my Confessions of a Homeschooler Facebook account as abusive and Facebook has disabled my account in response.

PLEASE HELP!

Today I come to you with a cry for support to have my account reinstated. I don’t know if it will work or not, but I’m hoping if we flood Facebook with requests they may take notice. I’m currently trying to appeal to Facebook to get the account reinstated and would appreciate any support you are comfortable giving!

If you feel led to support my cause, please use hashtag:

#WeLoveCoah

Feel free to copy and paste any of the tweet/FB posts below, or create your own!

Please Reinstate http://www.facebook.com/ConfessionsofaHomeschooler for www.confessionsofahomeschooler.com @ericahomeschool #WeLoveCoah

Feel free too share links to your favorite COAH printables with your followers too! Any support is appreciated!

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all of your support, I am so blessed to see so many people already standing up for what is right as well as helping to petition for my Facebook page already!

P.S. Make sure to check in tomorrow, I have a fun freebie for everyone!

  1. Ugh! I just saw a link from Kris @ WUHS on her FB page about one of your products….and I thought, hey, I don’t remember seeing anything from COAH from this weekend! Now I know why! I hope FB actually takes a look at your page and sees that you didn’t do anything wrong, and reinstates you tomorrow (or sooner)! Until then, enjoy your FB “vacation”. 🙂

    1. I saw the link too. I think that link directs users back to COAH’s page. I really don’t know the rules and guidelines on this sort of thing, but think we should see if this is acceptable or not. Erica??

      1. Kris’s link wasn’t a problem, we are allowed to link back to the original blog posts, even encouraged to do so! The link was what prompted me to think about how I hadn’t seen anything from CoaH yesterday.

      1. This is what I got back…
“OK, my colleague says that the page admin will have received messages from Facebook explaining how to follow up. My impression is that it’s just a simple counter notice procedure, but again, I know basically nothing about copyright issues”

    1. Same issues…I will help but not sure how to when it directs me back and if I’m doing something wrong let me know and I’ll get back on and do what needs to be done.

  2. I read the post in question. It’s unfortunate you’ve fallen victim to such angry, vindictive people. Violating copyright equates to plagiarism. Who would teach their child to plagiarize? No one, but when it comes to using something on ‘the sly’ it seems all right. As Christians we should have higher standards not just for our children, but for ourselves.

  3. This is horrible! I can’t believe that any homeschool group with an ounce of decency would condone or encourage such a act of cyber bullying. This just makes me sick. I really hope that Facebook realizes that your site is good and helpful and reinstate you soon. I love your blog and Facebook page!
