So you’ve finally decided to homeschool…but have no clue where to get started? After thousands of emails asking for help getting started homeschooling, I thought a book that set it all out for you in a step-by-step format would a great benefit to new and current homeschoolers!
Homeschooling 101 is a step by step practical guide that will help you to get started, and continue on in your homeschooling journey. It is designed to help guide you through all of the steps to getting started, choosing and gathering curriculum, creating effective lesson plans, scheduling your day, organizing your home, staying the course and more! It even includes helpful homeschooling forms!
Just the mere thought of homeschooling can be a very daunting task. Delving into the unknown can also create an element of self-doubt that fills your mind right off the bat. That coupled with an overwhelming task of choosing and gathering curriculum, creating lesson plans, organizing supplies, and teaching multiple grade levels can be quite disheartening.
But don’t worry, in this book it is my intention to offer you a step by step practical guide that will help you to get started and continue on in your homeschooling journey. I will help guide you through all of the steps to getting started, choosing and gathering curriculum, creating effective lesson plans, scheduling your day, organizing your home, staying the course, and more!
As you may have heard already, there is no one right way to homeschool. This book is by no means a rigid set of rules that must be followed exactly. Instead it is a tool to provide you with the means to get started in your journey. Take from it what makes sense for your family, and alter that which needs to be changed to fit the unique needs of your homeschool.

As a homeschool group board member I do a lot of talking with new homeschoolers. I look forward to reading this book so I can recommend it to them!
Teaching multiple ages at once
I would most like to see information on homeschooling an only child. It seems to be a topic that is forgotten where homeschooling multi-ages is addressed frequently.
I would love to show this to my husband!! He just needs just a tad more pushing. I would like to hear how to homeschool a broad spectrum from high school to kindergarten.
I need help picking a curriculum and getting/staying organized.
Homeschooling with alternative schedules is of interest to me, as I work two half days per week.
I would like more information on motivation and beginning to homeschool.
A friend of mine directed me to your blog a few months ago. I decided to homeschool our five children near the end of 2012. I feel I will benefit most from the budget and deciding on a curriculum. I have a tendency to want to try all the different things I like, and sometimes lose focus on how to do them all efficiently. I am a schoolteacher already so I think I have the basics. The scariest part for me is the loss of income, so I am working on building something part time. Hence, the need for the budget. I am excited about the learning opportunities available to us. I am excited that I will be able to focus on my children as individuals and encourage them to learn the best way they know how. I am excited for them to want to grow in a way that suits them individually. I am just excited and nervous!!!! Thank you for all the assistance you give to those of us deciding to be what God has originally intended us to be.
This looks great! I would like to see more info on motivating students and how to stay motivated as a teacher.
I am currently homeschooling one child and chapter 17 is one of interest to me. I’m finding it hard to keep things interesting and fun for my daughter when it’s just the two of us at home learning all day.
