Happy Monday everyone! Today I have a fun giveaway for you. Itβs the Magnetic Elapsed Time Set by Learning Resources. This fun tool is an easy way to help students understand how time progresses.
I personally like the segmented timeline that comes with it to help the counting process. Sometimes the circular shape of the clock can be confusing I think, so itβs nice to have it in this format as well.
What are the details?
- The Magnetic Elapsed Time Set is $24.99
- The set includes 2 magnetic clocks with repositionable hands, and a 24-hour timeline with βstartβ and βendβ labels, and removable guide numbers.
- The clocks are 10β
How do we use this?
I put them up on our magnetic white board as shown above and then set the clocks to different times. Next I have Tinker Bell position the βstartβ and βendβ markers on the timeline strip. Together we count the time between the markers to see how much time has elapsed between the two clocks.
We also do this in reverse, I will set the βstartβ and βendβ markers on the timeline, then Tinker Bell will place the hands in the correct position on the circular clock faces. Next we count the time going around the clock face and then the strip to verify.
What do we think?
I like this display, it really helps practice how to read a clock for younger kids, and also helps illustrate how we count the passing of time. It is fairly large as you can see, so you do need to make sure you have a space large enough to accommodate it. The full 24-strip will not fit on our little whiteboard, so I just place the ones we needed on it. You could also use this on a table instead of a magnetic board if you donβt have one. I also like how there are both the round clock faces as well as the segmented timeline to help show how time passes.

My Kaden has Autism and loves numbers!!! But, the clock throws him for a loop, I think this would help him understand it better!!! π
It is our first year homeschooling. My daughter is in kindergarten, and is a very hands-on type of learner. This would be a great tool in helping her learn to tell time.
Elaspsed time can be challenging! I love the strip that goes below the clock!
I would love to win this set because I have a time-learner right now and one soon-to-be time-learner who learn best using hands-on activities! This would be great!! π
I would like to win this set because after pulling my hair out teaching my 7 year old about time, I still have to teach my 5 year old and my 3 year old! AGGHHH!!
This looks so fun! I always dreaded learning anything math related. I would have loved to have something like this when I was younger and think it’s the perfect tool to help our boys learn while having fun!
Elapsed time is a difficult concept and I love the way this looks like it makes it a concrete concept and easy to understand!
I really like that this set is magnetic. I am currently teaching time with a cardboard clock that has movable hands, but the hands never really want to stay in place as soon as you stand it up. Thank you for the opportunity to win this great set!
