Happy Monday everyone! Today I have a fun giveaway for you. It’s the Magnetic Elapsed Time Set by Learning Resources. This fun tool is an easy way to help students understand how time progresses.
I personally like the segmented timeline that comes with it to help the counting process. Sometimes the circular shape of the clock can be confusing I think, so it’s nice to have it in this format as well.
What are the details?
- The Magnetic Elapsed Time Set is $24.99
- The set includes 2 magnetic clocks with repositionable hands, and a 24-hour timeline with “start” and “end” labels, and removable guide numbers.
- The clocks are 10”
How do we use this?
I put them up on our magnetic white board as shown above and then set the clocks to different times. Next I have Tinker Bell position the “start” and “end” markers on the timeline strip. Together we count the time between the markers to see how much time has elapsed between the two clocks.
We also do this in reverse, I will set the “start” and “end” markers on the timeline, then Tinker Bell will place the hands in the correct position on the circular clock faces. Next we count the time going around the clock face and then the strip to verify.
What do we think?
I like this display, it really helps practice how to read a clock for younger kids, and also helps illustrate how we count the passing of time. It is fairly large as you can see, so you do need to make sure you have a space large enough to accommodate it. The full 24-strip will not fit on our little whiteboard, so I just place the ones we needed on it. You could also use this on a table instead of a magnetic board if you don’t have one. I also like how there are both the round clock faces as well as the segmented timeline to help show how time passes.

I’d like to win this set because my daughter started showing interest in learning the clock and I think it would help her a lot.
Thank you for the giveaway.
This looks like an excellent tool for teaching time!
My nieces could use these – having trouble with telling time and would also help in math with the elapsed time – start to finish.
I would sooooo love to win this set! My son is learning time right this minute! And then I have little doodlebug coming up in a year to learn. What a great resource! And since we live overseas, we don’t have easy access in a store to buy these kinds of resources. Here’s to hoping I win it. Thank you!!
I would love to have this for my kids. My son is entering into Kindergarten and this is right up our alley!
My 4 year old is loving his history lessons right now. This is great but we only have the wooden clock puzzle. A new clock would make the lessons even better!
I love their stuff (Learning Resources)! This set would be really good for all 3 of my children, as they need something to help them understand elapsed time.
I have two children who are in the process of learning time, and this would help greatly since the passing of time is a harder concept for them to grasp.
I would love this for when my step daughter comes to visit so we could work on her school here. Also I plan on homeschooling in the future and this would be a nice piece to add to our growing collection 🙂
A few of my kids had a tough time learning this concept. What a great way to make that process easier!
