Happy Monday everyone! Today I have a fun giveaway for you. Itβs the Magnetic Elapsed Time Set by Learning Resources. This fun tool is an easy way to help students understand how time progresses.
I personally like the segmented timeline that comes with it to help the counting process. Sometimes the circular shape of the clock can be confusing I think, so itβs nice to have it in this format as well.
What are the details?
- The Magnetic Elapsed Time Set is $24.99
- The set includes 2 magnetic clocks with repositionable hands, and a 24-hour timeline with βstartβ and βendβ labels, and removable guide numbers.
- The clocks are 10β
How do we use this?
I put them up on our magnetic white board as shown above and then set the clocks to different times. Next I have Tinker Bell position the βstartβ and βendβ markers on the timeline strip. Together we count the time between the markers to see how much time has elapsed between the two clocks.
We also do this in reverse, I will set the βstartβ and βendβ markers on the timeline, then Tinker Bell will place the hands in the correct position on the circular clock faces. Next we count the time going around the clock face and then the strip to verify.
What do we think?
I like this display, it really helps practice how to read a clock for younger kids, and also helps illustrate how we count the passing of time. It is fairly large as you can see, so you do need to make sure you have a space large enough to accommodate it. The full 24-strip will not fit on our little whiteboard, so I just place the ones we needed on it. You could also use this on a table instead of a magnetic board if you donβt have one. I also like how there are both the round clock faces as well as the segmented timeline to help show how time passes.

This would be great for my boys! I’ve been using workbooks up until now, but have been looking for something better.
My kindergartener is getting very curious about reading the clock and this looks like a great way to learn! Thanks for sharing! π
I like the timeline part – this would be a great way to teach this concept. Plus, my kids make a story out of everything; I can already hear the two clock faces having “conversations” with each other. Thanks for offering these giveaways!
Would be perfect for my oldest who is learning to tell time!
I would love to win this! I’d actually been looking at this on Amazon for a manipulative for teaching time. We own many Learning Resources products…I am definitely a fan. π
We are just beginning “Time” with my twin Kindergarten girls. I would LOVE this resource because they are very hands on learners and we currently have no Time Teaching manipulatives.
Thanks so much for the opportunity!!
I am just starting school with my preschooler (he has two older brothers and a younger sister), and this would be a wonderful addition to our calendar time / morning routine!
I would like to win this because I have a 10-y.o. with dyslexia who still struggles with time. I think it would be very helpful to him. I could also use it for my soon-to-be preschooler π
I’d like to win this set because the included 24 hour timeline is good for helping kids learn more about time allotment and scheduling.
It does have a format addition that would help to understand the concept of time telling better!
