Oh my goodness! If you havenβt tried All About Spelling yet you are soooo missing out! We started using this product last year and absolutely love love love it!
I personally think they should have named it All About Phonics because it really is a phonics, spelling and reading program in my opinion. I wrote a review of it awhile back you can read my All About Spelling Review here.
I was previously using a different spelling program and my daughter was getting 100% on all her tests. I thought she was doing great until I realized that she was actually just memorizing her list for the week, but then later when asked to recall a word she should have learned it was long gone.
With All About Spelling, kids learn why words are spelled as they are. They drill the phonics rules until they are mastered and that is what has made the difference for us. I noticed a marked improvement in both the reading and writing skills of my children after starting this program. Now when they go to spell or sound out a word, Iβll remind them of the rules theyβve learned and they are able to figure it out on their own.
The lesson plans are well laid out and actually scripted for you if you like that. They also include hands on activities to make it a little more fun. I have a few Spelling Practice Ideas on my blog as well if youβre looking for more ideas to make spelling more hands-on and fun.

I have been eyeing All About Spelling for awhile, as I LOVE how it incorporates so many things into one. However, with this being my first year of homeschooling, and not knowing what my student or I will like, I didn’t want to commit too much financially and get burned. This giveaway, should I win, let’s me try it out with no regrets. I’m sure I will love it! It even has progress stickers π (ibenchu@yahoo.com)
Just came across your blog in the most random way, but so grateful. This next Monday I’m diving in to our first year of homeschooling. I have a 5 1/2 year old son who will start Kindergarten. His memory amazes me, so when you mentioned your daughter’s ability to memorize a list of words but not actually bebable to recall it a week later, that got my attention. Definitely will be keeping this in mind as we head into the year. One of the reasons I would enjoy having All About Spelling in my arsenal of resources.
I have wanted to use All About Spelling for awhile now! I have a friend who raves about it! This is a GREAT giveaway; I can’t wait to see who wins it!
Thank you!

Like many others I’m also a newbie to homeschooling this year – three beginning readers all at once! (We had a little boy and 12 months later, twin girls) So glad God led me to stumble across your blog. It looks like I should figure out how to Twitter too now… π
I would love to try this! It’s our first year homeschooling. My son is High Functioning Autistic, so I think such a hands-on method would work best for him. Thanks for the chance to win!
