I’m so excited to review a product for Lakeshore Learning! They are hands down one of my FAVORITE companies and I spend WAY too much money when I go into their store!
If’ you’ve been reading my blog for more than, oh say 1 day, you should know that my primary goal in life is to find things that make learning more fun! Suffice it to say, I’m clearly a visual learner, and gosh darn-it I intend to turn my kids into one as well! With that, I present the highly colorful, and utterly cute Numbers & Counting Folder Games:
What were our thoughts?
Right off the bat I have to say that I absolutely LOVE the colorful file folder box that this comes in. I’m all about neat and tidy, and this is a sturdy cardboard holder for the games that holds everything nicely in it’s place.
Once I got past the shiny new box {uhem…} we started in on the games. I love the cute little pieces for each set. The game boards are thick and durable, while at the same time colorful and super cute!
The kids loved them! They all begged for one in their workboxes today and eagerly went through the other boxes just to get to their games. I let my older daughter do one too just because they’re fun, obviously these are really meant more for preschool to Kindergarten level I think but we like to share at our house! I think the colorful pieces made all the difference too. Each game is so cute, the kids couldn’t wait to try the next one so we ended up playing them all!
One of my favorite games is the Hungry Alligator game. It was really easy to explain greater than / less than using this game. The illustration of the alligator being hungry was perfect for my son!
And they’re the PERFECT addition and size for my workboxes too!
So What’s Included?
The set includes 10 games that cover number sense, quantities, counting, sequencing, greater than/less than and more! Inside the box you’ll find:
-
10 Activity Folders
-
10 Sets of Tiles
-
10 Color Coded Storage Pouches
-
Hungry Alligators answer card
-
Flip-top Storage Box
-
Reproducible Assessment Cards
What’s the cost? $29.95

We love doing the free crafts at Lakeshore…I just started posting them because I know not everyone has a store near them. We got lucky have and one of the huge warehouses near us. But I am tempted to buy something every single week. =pHttp://melodysadventures.wordpress.com
this looks like fun.. i better check it out.
wow, they look great! thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the review, I'll be checking this out.
It would be so dangerous for me to live close to a warehouse!! I LOVE lakeshore!! Thanks for letting us know about their giveaway, and this great game 🙂
WOW. great stuff. thanks for sharing.
Also, is your work box container from Sams? A rolling thing?
These look so awesome! I'm really tempted to buy some right now…I am also a visual learner so your style of learning/teaching definitely appeals to me and it seems to be fun for my kids to learn this way. Thanks so much for all your ideas, BTW, they've really inspired me to get myself moving on organized activities with my kids even though I don't know yet if I'll homeschool (I'm terrified of it, to be honest!):)
Louanne: I got mine from JoAnn's Fabric but yes, you can get them at Sam's club!
Jennifer: If it makes you feel any better everyone is scared before they start. I still get nervous at the start of each year, but it gets easier as we go and I gain confidence in what we're doing!
