We read this sweet little color mixing book called “Mouse Paint” by Ellen Stoll Walsh. It was a great lead in to a color mixing stART project!
What’s stART? Simply put: A Story + Art = A Great stART!
For the art portion of this project we made a painted mouse color wheel.

First we read the story, its super cute, and easy to read as well.
Next we got our colors ready and since I have 3 kids doing this, each one mixed a color combo:
Next we painted, starting with the primary colored mice, then the secondary colored mice in between.
And voila, we have a mouse color wheel!
If you haven’t gotten involved yet, Visit A Mommy’s Adventures for more info! Each Thursday Michelle puts up her stART project for everyone to link up to and share ideas.

very cute project!
Great project! It also works really well with your Color Mixing activity 🙂 We did that a few weeks ago. It's one of my favorite books so we'll try the painting next time. She has a "Mouse Count" book as well, but it's not as cute, IMO.
I just ordered your Letter Of The Week Curriculum ..I'm super excited =)
What fun!
what a cute project!! I love how this turned out 🙂
Neat idea! Looks like lots of fun!Blessings,Jill
Here's another cute art project to go with that book: http://eco9.com/rareharestudio/?p=160 (you have to scroll down a bit, but it's cute!)Here is another nice book about color mixing. http://www.amazon.com/Color-Dance-Ann-Jonas/dp/0688059902 It would be fun to use tissue paper and overlap the primary colors to make secondary.
What a cute project! I love that book too! I can't wait to use it with my youngest.
What a great project, we love this book too. I can't wait to try this with Emily. Thank you for linking up to stART this week!!!
Oh, Erica…you are ever so clever! Adorable, as always!
