My Teeny Tiny Tot has embarked a new mission called “The Kitchen Table”. She’s discovered that with some effort, she can get to all the goodies that were previously out of her reach…here she is in action:

One night, after setting the table for tacos, I found her sitting happily on the table top, with a bowl of guacamole in one hand, the spoon in the other and a faceful of guac. I was too stunned or I’d have taken a picture!

I guess this pic should’ve tipped me off, and even though she got in trouble for it, I guess the guacamole was just too tempting.

Other places we’ve found her…

  1. Oh man!! I am going through the exact same thing right now. My 20mo, Joey, has been ahead on all his milestones EXCEPT climbing. I thought maybe he wasn't gonna be a climber – boy was a wrong! He too loves climbing onto the tabletop and it makes me a nervous wreck! There are so few places now for me to put things out of his reach 🙁 I now know it's only a matter of time before he figures out how to climb out of his crib, and I am so not ready to take the side rail off.Your baby girl is adorable btw! How old is she?

  2. My 17 month old is doing the same thing… it is strategy time!! For now I do things like make sure the dining room chairs stay pushed in. Once she learns to move them I will push the chairs against the perimeter walls… once she figures that out … well, then we'll just have to deal with, I guess. Totally freaks me out!!

  3. My 20 month old went through that stage too. We found him everywhere- kitchen table, sisters bed, in the tub…. He still climbs, but seems to have realized that most of the good stuff is closer to his height…most of the time.

  4. I just found your blog and it is wonderful! What a blessing and inspiration to this mom of 3 and first time homeschooling. Thank you! I just started my first blog as well and I am trying to figure out how to add the navigation par that you have at the top. … where you can click on art and crafts, 2nd grade. etc. how do you do that? I'll check back often… thank you for blessing my day! Di Ryan
