I homeschool my oldest – she is four. We are doing preschool this year. We are having a blast, and I feel so blessed. I love seeing what other families use. It gives me ideas. {grin} Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your opinion! I love your blog. I just like seeing how someone else (using the same curric.) is making it work for them, that way if I have to tweak I'll already have some ideas.:>)
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has this on their brain right now. I've been trying to figure out for the fall what I'm going to do with my kids and I had MFW up in the air for a bit too wondering about the phonics and just trying to figure out what to do.. so thank-you, this answers some of my questions!
Stopped by while blog partying and decided to become a follower. I love your blog!!! I am a public homeschooler with the Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA). I'm #851– "Sites 2 Literacy". While partying, stop by and check it out.
I have just recently started really paying attention to your blog. I found it on Facebook a while back, and am planning to homeschool my kids so now I am paying attention. I tried to follow the Letter of the Week plan and got sick just as we were getting started and it fell through. My daughter will be 5 in July and I have decided to order the Landmark Curriculum for her. I know I could gather all the information to get started with the books I already have, but would have to come up with my own lesson plans and with a 4, 3 and nearly 1 year old I would just be pulling my hair out. I feel like for this first year I need the structure of a full curriculum. I will continue to glean from your wisdom. Thank you!
I know this is an old blog post but I trust your opinion, so I was searching around to find what you did with your older one back in the day, as they say ๐ I have found that you used MFW adventures did you by chance use K? I used ECC this year but found I was adding in alot of stuff, even your EE.
I have had MFW K up in the air for awhile so just want to know if you have an opinion about it, or just MFW in general. We are on a tight budget, as I imagine a lot of people are, so I have to be careful about what I pick, So I can reuse it for younger siblings. I feel K should be a FUN year but I also know this is the year when she will emerge as a reader. And I really want her to enjoy it like her older siblings do. PS. this will be my first year teaching K, so I am a little stressed out! ๐
My thoughts: could I get away with just ordering AAR and MUS Primer, this is about the bulk of my budget, and throw in some fun science books and an ant farm and call it K? The older ones will be doing your RT and WGA so she can join in for art and GEO. What else does a K need?
Thanks~ Brandy (please email me, I don’t know if I can find this post again to get your reply?!)
