Hi everyone! I thought it would be fun to do a quick video showing you what my World’s Greatest Artists curriculum looks like, and of course there are a ton of art projects that you’ll be creating as well throughout the curriculum.
So let’s take a look at the curriculum! Learn about the World’s Greatest Artists here!

Age Group: These unit studies are intended for elementary students ages Kindergarten – 5th or 6th grades.
Come along on our quest to learn about some of the world’s greatest artists! So grab some art supplies and get ready to explore, create, and learn!
In this series of artist studies, we will be learning about 8 of the world’s greatest artists. We will immerse ourselves in the work of each artist so we become well familiar with their style, methods, and images.
Each study includes:
- Lesson plans for each week
- Lap Book printables
- Artist Note booking page
- Art Puzzles
- Artist Flashcards
Much of your time studying will be through open discussion and hands on experimentation. Upon completion of this curriculum you will be able to easily recognize the artwork from each artist studied, learn to look at art critically, as well as have gained an appreciation for art in general. You will also have explored some new techniques, and created several of your own unique masterpieces! And at the end you’ll have a wonderful Greatest Artists Lap Book to refer to!
Extra resources needed are included in the teacher’s manual. But you will need basic art supplies such as paper, paint, pencils, scissors, markers, and paint brushes.
The units were written to go with the Mike Venezia World’s Greatest Artists books, however you can also do an internet search for the artists and look up each day’s artwork online as well if you do not wish to purchase the books.
Which artists are included in Vo.l 1?
- Pablo Picasso
- Vincent Van Gogh
- Jackson Pollock
- Claude Monet
- Henry Matisse
- Georgia O’Keeffe

Which artists are included in Vol. 2?

Lapbook: As you progress through the curriculum students will create a fun lapbook with puzzles, artists flashcards, reports, and mini-books to help remind them of the artist’s work, how they felt about it, and what they remember most! Here is what the inside of your lapbook will look like once you start filling it up (Pics are from Vol. 1, and yes, the Georgia O’Keeffe typo has been fixed)!

How do you adjust this curriculum for Kindergarten? I see its in the curriculum K4, is it a bit above their heads to do the lap book etc? I’m curious before I purchase it how I could use it with my daughter. We do have your K4 curriculum and plan to use it as our main curriculum. Thanks!
Hi Rylie,
We did it when my middle daughter was a kindergartener. She did all of the art projects, etc. and I helped her with the little lapbooks. They can cut/paste the artwork into the minibooks, color them, etc. 🙂
Hi Erica,
I bought the Vol 1, but cant find the artist fact cards. May I know where to get it?
thank you.
Hi Celest, the artist fact cards are in the student workbook at the end of each artist section, make sure you downloaded both the teacher’s manual and the student workbook 🙂
