Hi everyone! I wanted to share a video tutorial on how we use the workbox system in our homeschool. I get a TON of questions regarding our setup, how I organize the boxes, and what we put in them. So I thought a video would be a fun way to explain our setup.

Hope you enjoy it! Without further ado…here is our Workbox System Video… “live”…so to speak…

So that’s our current homeschooling workbox system, I hope you enjoyed the video! Feel free to email me if you have any questions!

Here are some links for products mentioned in this video:

  1. I love this system! MY question though is I wrote down the subject you have in every drawer. The only thing I am wondering is, where is the history and the science, and social studies? This is my first year homeschooling and I am trying to make sure we get everything in. 🙂 thanks so much for all you do on this blog!!

  2. Erica, you’re such an inspiration to me! Thanks for this video. We are starting homeschooling this year and I also have 4 except the oldest is 7! I’m planning on using my workboxes for at least my older 2 and your video really helped me see the mechanics of all this. Thanks!

  3. Hi Erica, great video. Thank you for that. I have five children aged 6 and under 🙂 I would love to implement the work box system but have concerns about my little ones constantly pulling out drawers 🙂 was wondering if you knew if there is a drawer system that would fit into the IKEA wall unit? As we have the same one as y’all do. Thanks! Kristen

  4. Hi Erica – where did you get the clear plastic tray/organizer for supplies that sits on top? I found the drawers on Joann’s website but can’t seem to find that tray…thanks in advance!

  5. For those looking for MUS storage cases, look for “Plano” brand boxes. They come in all sizes with customizable dividers and can be found online or at Walmart. The clear adjustable trays can be found at The Container Store and fit in Ikea drawers. I use both and they work well.

  6. Do u combine Social studies and Science and do with all of your children? Also other than math what topics do u assist with for your kids? I usually teach math lesson, have spelling games, etc. where I play with my now rising 5th grader…however little brother is joining us for K and I think I am going to have to give up some of that because K is so much more teacher directed. Help! 😊

    1. Hi Gretchen,
I’ve done both group studies and individual. It’s easier when they are younger to do it as a group. My two older kiddos are only 1 year apart so I usually still combine them. But my youngest is a little too young to combine certain curriculum. My Road Trip and Expedition Earth are really easy to use with multiple grades. Other curriculum like Abeka/BJU etc are really more grade specific and it’s harder to try and combine it with multiple ages. I typically teach English, History, Science and they do a DVD for Math. Handwriting, typing, vocab, and spelling can be a little more independent depending on the curriculum you choose.
