Do your kids beg for a Starbucks Vanilla Bean Frappuccino every time you go like mine do? Ugh. And those things are like $4/each!
Being a homeschooler I quickly figured out that $4.00 x 4 kids = way more than I want to spend on drinks!
Since Iām a softy and have a hard time saying no, we decided to come up with our own recipe so we could make them at home and save about a zillion dollars.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 1/2 cups of milk (We used whole, but half-n-half is great too!)
- 1 T. Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup (You can add another tablespoon if you like.)
- 3 large scoops vanilla bean ice cream
- 1/2 tsp sugar (can omit)
- A blender
- Optional: Whipped Cream topping
Directions:
Blend and top with whipped Cream!
BAM! Just like that I saved myself about $16 by making them myself! Yipee!
If itās still not sweet enough you can add in a tablespoon of sugar, but we didnāt think it needed it.
You can also add in a scoop of vanilla ice cream, but again, the flavoring and ice were enough for us so weāre keeping it simple.
And thatās it.
Hmmā¦
I think that was one of the shortest posts Iāve ever written.
But no joke people! Thatās about how long it took to make four smiling faces and four Vanilla Bean Frappuccino’s!
Hope you enjoy!
I’m totally going to have to try this. I’d rather not spend a zillion dollars on blended ice and sugar… but I do far too often. This seems much better. Thanks!

Where do you find the Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup?
I just bought it at our local grocery store. Here it’s King Soopers, but I’ve even seen it at walmart.
so there is no coffee in it? can you make them with coffee in them? I need to find a good blender that will chop ice…mine never seems to work for stuff like that… Sounds YUMMY!!!
Hi Minette,
No, no coffee, but you could probably put some in there and make it more like a frappuccino! I have a Vitamix and it will blend just about anything :o)
^^^ That’s what I thought, too! š Although, I often freeze leftover coffee in ice cube trays so I may use those! š
Sure! Coffee would be good!
My girls usually request Vanilla Creams and Vanilla Steamers, but I can totally see them wanting a vanilla bean frappucino. We’ll have to try this recipe out. Thanks for sharing!
