I have to say mixing in a little food, (well, that’s if you count chocolate as food, which I do), in with school was genius! I’ve never seen 3 kids so ready to start school in all my lives! My 3 year old busted through her entire set of drawers just to get to the bottom box that had The M&M;’s Brand Counting Book and a bag of m&m;’s in it!
Now that we’re all on a chocolate high, I’ll post some pics 🙂
M&M; Size sorting, fun, she liked the big one the best, duh! Who wouldn’t? Click here to download m&m; size sorting!
Our Large Letter building fun! I am using my large alphabet lacing cards with our color cubes. She’s supposed to alternate color cubes to make a pattern, but said she ran out! Its all good in prek! Click here to download my Large A-Z Letter Lacing Cards
M&M; Lacing card, we went up from the bottom each time for this lacing lesson. Click here to download the m&m; lacing card!
M&M; Letter Matching! Click here to learn how to make the letter disks. If you’re looking for more challenge, use the uppercase card with the lowercase letter disks or visa versa! Click here to download the m&m; cards and letters!
M&M; Floor Numbers, hoping to the correct number! We also clapped the correct amount of times once she hopped to the number. Click here to download large m&m; floor numbers!
M&M; Pre-writing practice: I laminate these, then hole punch the upper left corner, and bind with a keyring. Then we use dry-erase to practice our pre-writing skills. Click here to download!
Finally! The creme de la creme’…The M&M;’s Brand Counting Book!

Awesome activities! I am hosting a weekly blog carnival called Playing with Our Food on Tuesdays. Tomorrow's topic is candy. If you get a chance, I would love it if you would link-up this post. :)http://mybilingualboys.blogspot.com/2009/11/playing-with-our-food-leftover_09.html
Who would have thought that M&Ms; could be such a fun and interactive learning tool.
off to go and find my hidden stash of m and m's….reading this made my mouth water!!! Our kiddos are highly motivated by chocolate so will be definitely using this when we get to letter m.
