Day 5: Love is not rude
He who blesses his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it will be counted a curse to him. Proverbs 27:14
TODAY’S DARE
Ask your spouse to tell you three things that cause him or her to be uncomfortable or irritated with you. You must do so without attacking them or justifying your behavior. This is from their perspective only.
I think today’s dare will be challenging. Unfortunately we tend to treat those closest to us the worst for some reason, and its probably become a habit for most of us as well. Not rude….hmmm…I’ll have to keep an eye on myself today!
The Love Dare is a 40-day challenge for husbands and wives to understand and practice unconditional love. You can do it as a couple, or if your marriage is in trouble, do it as an individual, for your marriage, out of obedience to Christ. Each day has a challenging lesson on love, followed by a ‘dare’ for the day, and space to journal how it went. For more information visit Fireproof My Marriage
I would ask for you all to pray for us as we embark on this journey, and let me know if I can pray for you as well. Click here to start from Day 1!
If you’re participating in The Love Dare, I would love to hear from you! Add your link to our McLinky so we can all pray for each other!
Can an unmarried couple do the “love dare”.
It’s been so long since I’ve done it, but yes, I think you can. It’s more about doing small things for your partner and I don’t recall there being anything not appropriate for non-married people. That said you can always omit that if you do find something. Like I said it’s been years since we did it!
What should the approach be if and when the dare requires my wife to respond such as say 5 and her response to my request is “I’ll see?” How can I proceed in the absence of an answer ?
