Day 4: Love is Thoughtful
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand…Psalm 139:17-18
TODAY’S DARE
Contact your spouse sometime during the business of the day. Have no agenda other than asking how he or she is doing and if there is anything you could do for them.
The Love Dare is a 40-day challenge for husbands and wives to understand and practice unconditional love. You can do it as a couple, or if your marriage is in trouble, do it as an individual, for your marriage, out of obedience to Christ. Each day has a challenging lesson on love, followed by a ‘dare’ for the day, and space to journal how it went. For more information visit Fireproof My Marriage
I would ask for you all to pray for us as we embark on this journey, and let me know if I can pray for you as well. Click here to start from Day 1!
If you’re participating in The Love Dare, I would love to hear from you! Add your link to our McLinky Blog Train and we can all pray for each other!
How is it working for you – today is my 2nd day. The Love Dare was to do a act of kindness. I got up & made my hubby lunch & put a love not in his lunch. This is out of the norm & I am sure when he ate his lunch at work he was probably shocked! Praise God! :)Nicole
Day 1 and 3 went well, if you went back and saw my day 2 post, I made a lame remark about my hubby's attempt at a random act of kindness, and I felt really bad, so that wasn't a great day! Note to self "don't scoff at husbands attempt at kindness"…oh well! He was gracious to forgive LOL! Otherwise going well, how about you?
I typically am an impatient person, so I have been praying that God help me to be patient not w/ just my husband but with EVERYONE! 🙂 I was pushy yesterday because for the kindness act my husband didn't even say anything because what I did was so out of the norm that I kept prodding him to acknowledge what I did _ I am sorry about that. I pray for silence & that I just do this Love Dare & God be glorified not me! 🙂
I am doing this love dare solo. After 31 years of marriage we have drifted apart, gotten complacent, and “set in our ways”. But I have prayed and asked God to help me do this. And that new growth in our marriage will take place. I believe God and that love never fails. He will help us. Today is Day 4. Blessings to all.
