I pray you will all be enjoying a very blessed Thanksgiving holiday with your family tomorrow! I’m posting a day early since I didn’t think many of you would be reading blogs on Thanksgiving day!
We will be spending time with our loved ones and counting all of the things we are thankful for this year.
I’m always thankful for my mom’s home cooked meals! Unfortunately this year she happens to have a broken wrist right in time for Thanksgiving!
So that means my dad and I will be trying to cook the meal ourselves. We actually had the same thing happen a few years ago, and we did a pretty good job!
Hmm…now that I think about it, she coincidentally seems to break bones right around Thanksgiving and Christmas…hmmm
So Lord willing, we’ll be enjoying spaghetti, meatballs, turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, salad, and pie!
As always I am thankful for our health, our families, my husband and awesome children, all of the wonderful people God has placed in our lives, our freedom, and those who fought to keep it!

We are celebrating Thanksgiving with my husband’s family with the usual turkey feast along with some traditional Vietnamese sides like spring rolls and my father in law’s pho and then celebrating with my family eating traditional Filipino dishes like fried fish and rice noodles. I look forward to seeing your road trip to Vietnam and the Philippines! This year, I am especially thankful in finding your website, Erica! I also have 4 kids and found your ideas to be a huge help in putting the fun back in homeschooling. Salamat and Cam ong!
I am especially thankful this year for two things, the people the drive me nuts and my life. My family is a recently blended family. I have picked up two stepsons along with my two little ones and now we are expecting our 5th child, which would be our first together. I chose to homeschool the older boys because they had fallen behind educationally and were going to a school that no morally sound children could flourish in. So them being boys that typically don’t like hard work has tested my sanity but I am eternally grateful to have them. They are the best brothers to my 3 yr old daughter and 16 month old son and their dad has been a loving father to all the children equally, my two have no active biological father. And to top it off I am thankful for my life. I have high risk pregnancies that land me in the hospital frequently. The last hospital stay was 4 days and when i came in i was on death’s doorstep. Dehydrated, malnurished, underweight, and two severe infections. God has pulled me through and blessed me beyond measure.
I apologize for the long comment. But i just would like to remind all readers to thank God in not only the good easy times but in the moments that all is being lost. If you always find something to be thankful for then you can always be happy, even when the world is tumbling down 🙂 God bless.
This year I’m Thankful for a house, and not to be moving over Thanksgiving like last year. We will not have to do that again for another few years. We are 3000 miles away from our parents, but will be having Thanksgiving with my great sister in law….I’m thankful for two sweet girls that God has given us. Thankful for a husband who puts his life on the line each and every time he goes to work. And that I’m able to stay home and homeschool our girls. I’m thankful that I have came to peace that we may not have anymore.
God Bless your family!
