Hi everyone! I have a fun new tutorial for you today! I made this cute little backpack per the request of my girls. They specifically asked for this little fold over top flap and the drawstring, so that’s what we did!
And today I’ll show you how to make it too!

Do you prefer written instructions?
The Flower Patch Backpack PDF pattern includes easy to follow step-by-step written instructions along with detailed graphic illustrations to make sewing this project a breeze!
For this project I used the lovely Garden Variety by Lella Boutique. It’s such a fun spring fabric line, and I think it complimented this project so well!
I love the patchwork top flap, I think it gives the bag a little extra don’t you? And don’t even get me started on this adorable polka-dot canvas! I found it at a local quilt shop, but it’s by Robert Kauffman fabrics and they had a few others that were super cute too!
I also used a fun wooden button with a white floral print on it.
This pattern fits a teen/small adult well, but you can easily make your backpack straps a little longer or shorter depending on your recipient.
Of course I added an inside pocket because, why not?
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this project, if you make it please tag me @ericaarndt and use #flowerpatchpack so I can see what you create!

Where did you purchase the fabric that you used for the lining? What is it called?
That one is called Meriwether by Amy Gibson for Windham Fabrics. It’s an older print, but if you look on Etsy you may be able to find some!
Nice …I love it I also like fabric.
