Good morning readers! I hope you’re having a great day so far! I get a lot of questions on how we set up our calendar bulletin board area, and how we use it. So I thought it would be fun to do a short calendar time video showing you what supplies I have used, and how we review our calendar each day.
So if you’re interested in seeing what supplies I used, and how we go about learning our calendar activities, check out the calendar time video below!
You will need:
- 2 x 3 Cork Bulletin Board (Or whatever size you like, but I probably wouldn’t go smaller than 2×3)
- Polka Dot Calendar Poster
- Month and day cards
- 3m Velcro wall hanging strips
- Velcro dots
- Push Pins
- Mavalus Tape
- Page protectors (Cheapest ones you can find!)
- We Choose Virtues Character Cards
- Today Tomorrow Yesterday
- What’s the Weather Chart
I hope this video helps you out, please feel free to let me know if you have any questions!
Check out all of my calendar time printables here!

LOVE the idea of buying 2 Months of the Year posters so that 1 can be cut up & laminated for a matching activity and for easy removal of each month! This idea can be used in all subject areas! Great idea!
Good Afternoon Erica,
I enjoyed the video and the good ideas! I look forward to your curriculum reviews. I loved your middle ages review. My daughter asked me to buy the middle ages CD to work on during summer vacation this year! (Wow!) There isn’t a lot of opportunities for me to be able to physically look through textbooks and other curricula so I read a lot of reviews that I find on-line and your site is a good one for discussion and review. Thank you for the time you put into helping all of us! Have a good day!
Jen
Hi, Erica! I think your blog is positively lovely, so I’ve nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award. I’ve enjoyed your blog ever since I discovered it a few years ago and purchased your LOTW program to use with my boys who are now in 1st grade! Where does the time go? I’ve already begun using it again with my 2 and 3 year old girls. What fun! Thanks for all your inspiration!

We’ve been using your kinder daily learning notebook this year and it’s been really great for my DD; however, I’m not sure we’re using the weather graphing page correctly. The graph only has 25 columns for each month and I’m confused how this works since each month has more than 25 days. Can you help us with this please? Thanks!!
Hi Jessi,
We don’t chart the weather on weekends, so I thought 25 spots would be sufficient for most homeschoolers.
This is something I have wanted to implement but haven’t figured it out. Thanks for making it simple!
Hi Erica,
I don’t have enough words to express how thankful I am for your incredible giftedness! I am so thankful that God led me to your site one month ago when my husband and I decided to pull our 1st grader out of public school and officially begin teaching him along with our four year old son. We were so burdened with this decision for about a year, and hesitated because of finances. We knew we’d lose an income, and we thought it would be too expensive to start so soon. We’d planned to start this fall and buy what we needed along the way. A creative bug and former teacher myself, I was inspired by you and many others to start a blog to document our journey, and seek The Lord about what I could create to get us moving mid year. Finding your site allowed me to start with only the need to buy a math curriculum for our oldest son! We are using the Letter of the Week for our four, now (five) year old and oh what a blessing! Visiting your site for ideas is a part of my morning routine! Thank you Erica!
Hi! You say you use Mavalus tape for items on your wall….I’m assuming the posters? Since it doesn’t seem to be double sided, do you just fold it over and attach to back of poster onto wall? Then can you remove it from paper/posters without damage? And would it stick items to the cork board? Thanks for your help before I purchase this tape.
And by the way…thank you, thank you, thank you for all the wonderful help on your site. You are amazing! Many Blessings your way!
Yes, I use it for everything except for the heavy items like my white board and cork boards. For those I use the plastic velcro strips. For the mavalus tape, I fold it over on itself to make a loop, then put it on the backs of my posters and any other decorative items for my walls.
we just ordered the virtue cards. love being back on your site. You are amazing at what you do. so thankful for you!!
I almost have the calendar put together, hoping to get the velcro in time to get the calendar going the first of September. Love it! I’m really excited.
Thank you so much for this helpful calendar. It will definitely come in handy.
