Ah, packing peanuts…hours of free Mom time, but is it really worth the time?
It always starts out like this…
It’s times like this that my kids are lucky their mom is a scrapbooker, because the first thing that runs through my mind is “grab the gun, or grab the camera?” If I’m at all stable that day I’ll grab the camera, let the kids have a little more fun just to get a good shot, then go get the vacuum. This is usually when I remember the last time I let them play with peanuts and how they don’t actually vacuum up but instead, blow around aimlessly from the air coming out of the vacuum.
Now, let’s see here…
30 minutes of Mom Free Time
– 20 Minutes of cleanup time
– a week of finding said peanuts randomly spread around the house
+ husband complaining that someone picked a peanut off of him at work
= -10min at the very best, well that and a good chuckle when husband calls from work wondering why he’s got peanuts on his back.
Hmmm…still undecided on this one, any thoughts?
Oh my goodness! I am laughing out loud here. I just recently found your blog when I was searching for alphabet activities. I decided to go back to the very beginning and see how you got started. You are a great writer and so funny! I love your honesty about the frustrations and craziness about being a mom. I can totally relate. I am a former teacher and now stay at home mom to my one year old. I am intrigued by the thought of homeschooling my kids, so your blog is going to be a great resource for me. It’s already been inspiring when I read your posts about respecting your husband and why you homeschool. I am new to the blogging world. My blog is http://www.AlphabetObsessed.com. Thanks Erica!
