Since we’re finishing up Letter M today, we had to do a marshmallow craft! We printed large M’s from Christine Clemente Stack’s Letter of the Week!

We have been reading our Birds, Nests & Eggs
So, I realize this would be easier with toilet paper rolls, or even a cut up paper towel roll, but for once in my life I don’t have an abundance of these! (Typically one would just have to go into a bathroom here, and there’d be one right there on the toilet paper holder…you know, cuz no one knows how to replace toilet paper here…I think they think little elves do it for them in the night!)
So we just decorated some construction paper, and then rolled them up. We put an accordion folded piece inbetween the tubes to spread them out a tad. Taped em up with painters tape, just cuz its fun and blue. Punched some holes in the ends, and tied on a piece of yarn, and voila! Bird Watchin’ Binoculars…definitely on the fly!
Hey, I didn’t say it was pretty people, but for kiddo’s 6 and under, they just think that’s the way its supposed to be LOL! Ooh, maybe I’ll start a new series…Friday on the Fly! Hahaha!
I just recently stumbled across your blog and LOVE it! We will be doing the M unit sometime this month as soon as I can get everything printed, laminated, and ready to go! I'm so excited. I do have one question for you though. How old is your little one that you are doing this with? I couldn't find it on your blog.
Hi! Glad you like it!She is 3.5 yrs old. Really I wouldn't normally do all this for a 3 yr old, but she has 2 older siblings that do school and so she wanted to have her own 'school' work to do! I also plan on using it again next year, maybe add some more challenging things, but I'm not ready to kick her up to Kindergarten at 4 either, so we'll repeat it. And I have a 1 year old who will be doing it all in a couple of years!
You can use the colored marshmallows to make a pattern on the large M.
My daughter is only 20 months but she is very into learning and has an extremely absorbent mind. She remembers things sometimes that even I don't remember so I thought I'd start teaching her some things and see how it goes. Thanks!

My son would love both of those projects! We're doing the alphabet too, but we're only on letter I. I'm definitely keeping the marshmallows in mind for a few weeks in the future.
