Hi everyone! Today Iām sharing our 7th-8th Grade Reading List with you! These book lists are not only educational, but the perfect way to encourage your student to enjoy reading!
Most 7th and 8th grade students should be reading fairly well at this stage. If you still have a struggling reader, I suggest reading aloud with them often while they finger trace the words with you.Ā I also encourage book reports at this age as well. This download has a couple of book report printables included in it or you can of course just use regular notebook paper.
At this stage I also prefer to allow my students to help me choose their literature for the year. We choose books from a list Iāve prepared, but they get to pick which ones they want to read from that list. Giving your students the choice helps encourage them to enjoy reading as well as makes them feel like theyāre a part of the learning process.

Oh. My. Word. I just searched google for chapter books for my 8th grade daughter to read and now I feel like I need to go take a shower to cleanse myself! Eww, some of the stuff they are pedaling on kids these days. And then, I remembered your website, Thankfully!! Thank you for doing the research. And having used many of your resources in the past, I know I can trust them š
So glad this has been helpful for you!
Is there a way to preview the lesson plans before buying? I want to make sure they are for my literature book.
Thank you.
Yes, there are screen shots in the store listing for the pages. They are fairly generic and you can modify them if you purchase the Word Doc version.
